Monday Knitting

We started our Rogue sweaters last night. I got about three inches done. Liz hasn't ever worked from a chart before. A new learning experience. The instructions seem pretty clear to me, but I'm only learning what the new symbols mean.

I like the way this chart is done. I need to find out what software was used and get it. I have some patterns I'd like to do and if I'm going to make charts this would be good software to use. (Like for the Master Knitter level III)

I have a few things to take pictures of and post. Maybe later today I'll get a chance to take care of that.

Alas, no yarn arrived yesterday, so I'm already a day behind. I'll try to make it up later this week so I don't fall too far behind you all!

It was a new experience but not too bad, now that I know what is going on. I can see why charts are preferred, I may be converted.

I can't decide if I want to do the front pocket and according to the pattern I've already passed the row that I'm supposed to start the pocket. Time to tink!

I'm mostly ambivalent about charts for things like lace, but I have decided that I don't really like them for cables, so Rogue will likely be somewhat challenging for me until I get the hang of it.

Also, Jack IM'd me to let me know that my yarn arrived today. So I'll catch up tonight and post pics tomorrow!

Charts for cabling are VERY handy if they are done well and once you learn to read them. I can actually see the cables in the charts now and can glance at the charts and know what to do next without actually 'following' the chart. This makes knitting much quicker.

That's where I'm getting to as well, so it's not impossible.
Can't wait to see your progress! I'm starting on the front pouch tonight!
