drat

Well my worst fears were realized last night and I ran out of yarn to finish the baby sweater. I am about 1 inch from complete. The pattern called for 3 oz and I had just under 4 oz. It should have been enough, especially when I had gauge and everything. Alas, this is why yardage is a more useful measure than weight. I looked for a complementary yarn to do the remainder but I don't have anything. I suppose I can just frog it and put the yarn aside for another R&S baby present. I'm very bummed.

In response to your any ideas...
How about a challenge to see how many things you could make for your mother?

Unfortunately that wasn't one of the approved options.

Perhaps one could step outside the box?

The box is so full that one should really give it full attention.

You could always sew up the lady bug sweater that's sitting on your table and then that would be one baby sweater done....

(smiles innocently....)

That would not add to the 'finished this year' column and doesn't solve the issue of finishing the out of yarn sweater and the angst at being this >< close to finishing it.
