A new challenge

I have decided, in the interest of managing my stash acquisition, that for the next 12 months I am going to push more yarn out than I take in. So from June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012 I'm going to calculate yardage in and yardage out.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be has hard to do as I think it will. Focus is a problem.

On the knitting front I have made Ice Cream Cozies. These are cool. I'm going to make some more. I'm not sure I agree that a pint is a single serving, but there aren't melt rings on my table, my hand isn't frozen and my ice cream didn't melt as fast. These are all good things.

Adding - this pattern is from the 2011 Pattern a Day Calendar, designed by Heather Narbit Strawser (June 3). It's made with worsted weight yarn on size 6mm (I used US 6 and the pattern worked fine, fits the ice cream container to my satisfaction and if I make more I'll make them exactly the same)

The pattern is from the 2011 pattern a day calendar.

I have no idea if the pattern will be available elsewhere. But it's made much the same as a coffee cup cozy, the only different is that a partial bottom is added before it's cast off (it's not closed all the way to help make it easier to remove).

I'm off to amazon to see if the calendar is still available!
